Abstract
A process for preparing dye compositions which comprises hydrolyzing an O-protected 5,6-dihydroxyindole with an alkaline material under substantially anaerobic condition and the products made by such process.
Claims6
A dye composition for human keratinous fibers comprising 5,6-dihydroxyindole present in an amount effective to dye said human keratinous fibers and a foam generator, in an amount effective to generate foam, in a cosmetically acceptable aqueous medium, said composition being packaged, under pressure, in an aerosol device in the presence of a propellant agent, under such conditions so as to form a dyeing foam when dispensed from said aerosol device.
