Abstract
This invention relates to novel substituted 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolines which are useful in the treatment of vascular restenosis, various disorders of the central nervous system, in the regulation of female reproductive functions, in cognitive enhancement, in atherosclerosis and in treating excessive AVP secretory disorders. Novel intermediates useful in the preparation of the compounds are also disclosed. Methods of using the compounds and pharmaceutical compositions containing them are disclosed.

- 3-Methoxy-2-(phenylmethoxy)phenylalanine
- 4-Methoxy-3-(phenylmethoxy)phenylalanine
- 3-Methoxy-2-(2-phenylethoxy)phenylalanine
- 3-Methoxy-2-(4-nitrophenoxy)phenylalanine
- 1,2,3,4-Tetrahydro-6-methoxy-5-(phenylmethoxy-3-isoquinolinecarboxylic acid,
- 1,2,3,4-Tetrahydro-7-methoxy-6-(phenylmethoxy)-3-isoquinolinecarboxylic acid,
- 1,2,3,4-Tetrahydro-6-methoxy-5-(2-phenylethoxy)-3-isoquinolinecarboxylic acid,
- 1,2,3,4-Tetrahydro-6-methoxy-5-(4-nitrophenoxy)-3-isoquinolinecarboxylic acid,
- 1,2,3,4-Tetrahydro-6-methoxy-5-(phenylmethoxy)-3-isoquinolinecarboxylic acid, ethyl ester,
- 1,2,3,4-Tetrahydro-6-methoxy-5-(4-nitrophenoxy)-3-isoquinolinecarboxylic acid, methyl ester,
- N-Acetyl-3-methoxy-2-(phenylmethoxy)phenylalanine,
- 1,2,3,4-Tetrahydro-5-hydroxy-6-methoxy-2-[methyl (phenylamino ) carbonyl]-3-isoquinolinecarboxylic acid, and
