Abstract
Monoclonal antibodies are provided which bind to an antigen associated with prostate cells, including prostate cancers. The monoclonal antibodies and recombinant forms thereof are used individually or conjugated radioisotopes to target the compounds to cancerous prostate cells, and thus are useful in a variety of diagnostic procedures.
Claims11
A monoclonal antibody which is the PR1 monoclonal antibody.
A monoclonal antibody or binding fragment thereof which competes with monoclonal antibody PR1 for binding to a prostate cell associated antigen and which contains VH and VL complementarity determining regions of monoclonal antibody PR1.
A cell line which secretes a monoclonal antibody which competes with monoclonal antibody PR1 for binding to a prostate cell associated antigen and, which is ATCC No. HB 11145.
A method for screening for the presence of metastatic prostate cancer in an individual, comprising exposing cells or tissues of an individual to a monoclonal antibody or binding fragment thereof which competes with monoclonal antibody PR1 for binding to a prostate cell associated antigen and which containing VH and VL complementarity determining regions of monoclonal antibody PR1 and detecting the binding of the monoclonal antibody or binding fragment to the cells or tissue.
