Abstract
The present invention relates to 8-chloro-11-[1-[(5-methyl-3-pyridyl)methyl]-4-piperidyliden]-6,11-dihydro- 5H-benzo[5,6]cyclohepta[1,2-b]pyridine, to a process for its preparation and to pharmaceutical compositions containing it. This compound is a dual PAF antagonist and antihistamine.

A method of treating a mammal suffering from a disease associated with the activity PAF and/or histamine, comprising administering to said mammal an effective amount of 8-chloro-11-[1-[(5-methyl-3-pyridyl)methyl]-4-piperidyliden]-6,11-dihydro- 5H-benzo[5,6]cyclohepta[1,2-b]pyridine, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof.
