Abstract
An electrophotographic imaging member includes a charge generating layer, a charge transport layer and an interphase region. The interphase region includes a mixture of a charge generating material and a charge transport material, in intimate contact, and may be formed, for example, by applying a charge transport material prior to drying or curing an underlying charge generating layer to produce an interphase structure that is different from the charge generating and charge transport layers.
Claims13
An electrophotographic imaging member comprising a charge generating layer, the charge generating layer comprising a charge generating material, the charge generating material comprising a photogenerating pigment and a film-forming binder;
- a charge transport layer;
- and an interphase region between the charge generating layer and the charge transport layer, wherein the interphase region comprises a mixture of the charge generating material and a charge transport material and wherein said mixture forms a continuously decreasing gradient of charge generating material and a continuously increasing gradient of charge transport material in a direction from the charge generating layer toward the charge transport layer.
