Abstract
Compounds of formula (I), ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, which may be the same or different, represent hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 independently represent one or more radicals selected from hydrogen, OH, NH.sub.2, NO.sub.2, halogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl or C.sub.1-6 alkoxy and n is an integer from 1-2 inclusive, and pharmaceutically acceptable derivatives thereof are useful as pharmaceuticals; in particular, they possess N-methyl-(d)-aspartate(NMDA) blocking properties and are useful in the treatment and/or prevention of neurodegenerative conditions.
Claims9
A compound of the formula I, ##STR6## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, independently represent H or C.sub.1-6 alkyl;
- R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 independently represent one to four radicals selected from H, NH.sub.2, or chloro;
- n is 1 or 2,
- in addition, the spiro rings may independently contain an unsaturated carbon-carbon bond;
- and pharmaceutically acceptable derivatives thereof.
