Abstract
An optical glass including as its main ingredients in weight percent 25-50% SiO.sub.2, 16-40% B.sub.2 O.sub.3, 5-25% SrO and 1-10% Li.sub.2 O has optical constants of refractive index (Nd) of 1.55-1.65 and Abbe number (.nu.d) of 55-63 and a yield point (At) below 600.degree. C. which is suited for mold pressing.

An optical glass consisting in weight percent of:
- ______________________________________ SiO.sub.2 25-50% B.sub.2 O.sub.3 16-40% Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 0-5% TiO.sub.2 0-1% ZrO.sub.2 0-5% ZnO 0-5% MgO 0-5% CaO 0-8% SrO 5-25% BaO 0-9% Li.sub.2 O 1-10% Na.sub.2 O + K.sub.2 O 0-5% Sb.sub.2 O.sub.3 0-1% ______________________________________
