Abstract
A colony stimulating factor. CSF-1, is a lymphokine useful in overcoming the immunosuppression induced by chemotherapy or resulting from other causes. CSF-1 is obtained in usable amounts by recombinant methods, including cloning and expression of the murine and human DNA sequences encoding this protein.
Claims8
A purified, homogeneous, recombinant, non-glycosylated human CSF-1 protein preparation that is substantially free from other human proteins, wherein said protein, in its active form, is capable of stimulating the formation of primarily macrophage colonies in a standard in vitro CSF-1 assay consisting of the amino acid sequence set out in FIGS. 5-1 and 5-2 from position 1 to position 158.
