Abstract
A liquid crystal display device includes an array substrate, an opposing substrate, and a liquid crystal layer sealed between the substrates. The array substrate has signal and scanning lines arranged in a matrix manner, and a plurality of pixel electrodes each connected to the signal and scanning lines through a transistor. A conductive film covers the signal and scanning lines through an insulating film. Each pixel electrode has an edge portion overlapping with the conductive film through an insulating film.
Claims12
A liquid crystal display device comprising:
- a first electrode substrate having a plurality of signal lines and scanning lines disposed in a matrix manner, and a plurality of pixel electrodes, each of the pixel electrodes being connected to at least one of the signal lines and at least one of the scanning lines through a switching element;
- a second electrode substrate having an opposing electrode which is opposite to the pixel electrodes;
- and
- a liquid crystal layer sealed between the first and second electrode substrates;
- said first electrode substrate having a conductive film which is formed of a transparent conductive film and provided between the pixel electrodes and at least one of a group of the signal lines and a group of the scanning lines, for reducing coupling capacitance between the pixel electrodes and said at least one of the group of the signal lines and the group of the scanning lines, a first insulating film provided between the conductive film and said at least one of the group of the signal lines and the group of the scanning lines, and a second insulating layer provided between the conductive film and the pixel electrodes.
