Abstract
An image signal recording and reproducing system records an image signal on a recording medium and reproduces a recorded image signal from the recording medium. The system is arranged to record information indicative of the values of M and N which satisfy fso/M=fr/N (M and N: integers) on the recording medium together with a sampling image signal generated by sampling at a sampling frequency fso and a pilot signal having a frequency fr. Accordingly, it is possible to record and reproduce an image signal on and from the recording medium with the compatibility of the image signal retained irrespective of a sampling frequency.
Claims15
An image signal processing apparatus for processing an image signal, comprising:
- (A) clock signal generating means for generating a clock signal having a frequency fso;
- (B) image signal generating means arranged to operate in accordance with the clock signal generated by said clock signal generating means to generate an image signal;
- (C) pilot signal generating means for generating a pilot signal having a frequency fr;
- (D) information signal generating means for generating an information signal corresponding to values of M and N which satisfy fso/M=fr/N;
- and
- (E) recording means arranged to form a recording signal by multiplexing the pilot signal generated by said pilot signal generating means and the information signal generated by said information signal generating means with the image signal generated by said image signal generating means and to record the recording signal thus formed on a recording medium.
An image signal processing apparatus for processing an image signal, comprising:
- (A) clock signal generating means for generating a clock signal having a frequency fso;
- (B) image signal generating means arranged to operate in accordance with the clock signal generated by said clock signal generating means to generate an image signal having a horizontal scanning frequency fr;
- (C) pilot signal generating means for generating a pilot signal having a frequency fr;
- (D) numerical data generating means for generating numerical data indicative of the frequency fso of the clock signal output from the clock signal generating means or numerical data obtained by multiplying the frequency fso of the clock signal by the horizontal scanning frequency fh of the image signal;
- and
- (E) recording means for forming a recording signal by multiplexing the pilot signal generated by said pilot signal generating means and the numerical data generated by said numerical data generating means with the image signal generated by said image signal generating means and for recording the formed recording signal on a recording medium.
An image signal recording and reproducing system for recording an image signal on a recording medium and reproducing the image signal recorded on said recording medium, comprising:
- (A) clock signal generating means for generating a clock signal having a frequency fso;
- (B) image signal generating means arranged to operate in accordance with the clock signal generated by said clock signal generating means to generate an image signal;
- (C) pilot signal generating means for generating a pilot signal having a frequency fID=n fh, where fh is a horizontal synchronizing frequency;
- (D) information signal generating means for generating an information signal corresponding to values of M and N which satisfy fso/M=fID/N ;
- and
- (E) recording means arranged to form a recording signal by the pilot signal generated by said pilot signal generating means and the information signal generated by said information signal generating means with the image signal generated by said image signal generating means and to record the recording signal thus formed on a recording medium.
