Abstract
A process cartridge mountable to an image forming apparatus includes a frame, an image bearing member, a toner carrying member for directing toner to the image bearing member, and a magnet disposed within the toner carrying member. A common positioning member, separate from the frame, contacts each of the image bearing member and the magnet to mutually position the image bearing member and the magnet.
Claims59
A process cartridge mountable to an image forming apparatus, comprising:
- a frame;
- an image bearing member;
- a toner carrying member for directing toner to said image bearing member;
- a magnet disposed within said toner carrying member;
- and
- a common positioning member, discrete from said frame, contacting each of said image bearing member and said magnet to mutually position said image bearing member and said magnet.
An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording medium and adapted to mount a process cartridge, said image forming apparatus comprising:
- mounting means for mounting a process cartridge including a frame, an image bearing member, a toner carrying member for directing toner to said image bearing member, a magnet disposed within said toner carrying member, and a common positioning member discrete from said frame, said common positioning member contacting each of said image bearing member and said magnet to mutually position said image bearing member and said magnet;
- and
- feeding means for feeding a recording medium.
A process cartridge mountable to a main body of an image forming apparatus, comprising:
- a frame;
- an image bearing member;
- a toner bearing member for transporting toner to said image bearing member;
- a magnet disposed within said toner bearing member;
- and
- an attachment member, contacting each of said image bearing member and said magnet to commonly support said image bearing member and said magnet, for attaching said image bearing member and said magnet to said frame, said attachment member being separably attached to said frame.
An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording medium and adapted to mount a process cartridge, said image forming apparatus comprising:
- a mounting device for mounting the process cartridge, which includes a frame, an image bearing member, a toner bearing member for transporting toner to said image bearing member, a magnet provided within said toner bearing member, and an attachment member, contacting each of said image bearing member and said magnet to commonly support said image bearing member and said magnet, for attaching said image bearing member and said magnet to said frame, said attachment member being separably attached to said frame.
An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording medium, said image forming apparatus comprising:
- a frame;
- an image bearing member;
- latent image forming means for forming a latent image on said image bearing member;
- a toner bearing member for transporting toner to said image bearing member to develop the latent image formed on said image bearing member;
- a magnet provided within said toner bearing member;
- and
- an attachment member, contacting each of said image bearing member and said magnet to commonly support said image bearing member and said magnet, for attaching said image bearing member and said magnet to said frame, said attachment member being separably attached to said frame;
- and
- transport means for transporting the recording medium.
A method for attaching an image bearing member and a magnet to a frame of a process cartridge which is mountable to a main body of an image forming apparatus, said method comprising the steps of:
- providing an attachment member which is separate from the frame and has an integral construction;
- supporting one end of the image bearing member and one end of the magnet using the attachment member such that the attachment member contacts each of the one end of the image bearing member and the one end of the magnet;
- and
- attaching the attachment member to the frame.
A method for attaching an image bearing member and a magnet to a main body of an image forming apparatus, said method comprising the steps of:
- providing an attachment member which is separate from the frame and has an integral construction;
- supporting one end of the image bearing member and one end of the magnet using the attachment member such that the attachment member contacts each of the one end of the image bearing member and the one end of the magnet;
- and
- attaching the attachment member to the frame.
An attachment member, comprising:
- a base member;
- a circular member protrudedly provided on said base member and adapted to contact an image bearing member;
- a concave portion formed on said base member and adapted to contact a magnet;
- a first electrically conductive member provided on said circular member;
- and
- a second electrically conductive member provided on said concave portion, wherein said attachment member mutually positions the image bearing member and the magnet.
