Abstract
Novel capsaicin derivatives of general formula I ##STR1## wherein R, R.sub.1 to R.sub.7 and X may be a variety of substituents, processes for the production thereof, pharmaceutical compositions containing them and use thereof as pharmaceuticals.

A compound of formula I, ##STR7## where R.sub.1 is halogen, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.1-16 alkoxy or unsubstituted benzyloxy;
- R.sub.2 is hydrogen, halogen or C.sub.1-4 alkyl;
- R.sub.3 is hydrogen or C.sub.1-4 alkyl;
- and
- X is --CH.sub.2 --.sub.n, where n is 1, 2 or 3;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
