Abstract
A color enhancing agent comprising water, urea and a quaternary ammonium compound of the Formula (1): ##STR1## wherein: R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are each independently selected from H and C.sub.1-20 -optionally substituted alkyl or alkylene; R.sup.4 is C.sub.1-20 -optionally substituted alkyl or alkylene; and X.sup.- is an anion, provided that the total number of carbon atoms in the compound of Formula (1) is more than 30. The color enhancing agent can be used in pre-treatment compositions for textile materials prior to ink jet printing with a reactive dye and improves color yields.
