Abstract
A cleaning-preserving aqueous solution for contact lenses, which contains, as a surfactant, a tetra-fatty acid polyoxyethylene sorbitol of the formula 1: ##STR1## wherein a+b+c+d+e+f=20 to 50, and four among R.sub.1 to R.sub.6 are C.sub.12-18 saturated or unsaturated fatty acid residues and the remaining two are hydrogen atoms, and which has a physiological osmotic pressure and has a pH adjusted to a level of from 4 to 9.
