Current regulated electronic stunning apparatus

An apparatus for stunning animals, said apparatus comprising:

• conveyor means for suspending the animals, said conveyor means moving along a predetermined path;
• a contact strip applied to a portion of each animal,
• conducting strip means defining individual segments, said conducting strip means positioned adjacent a portion of said conveyor means such that said contact strip forms an electrical connection with said conducting strip when said conveyor means moves the animal such that said contact strip is in contact with said conducting strip;
• and
• means for impressing a voltage across said conveyor means and independently each of said individual segments, said voltages being a function of said position of each of said individual segments relative to said conveyor means.
