Pyridine compounds which have useful pharmaceutical activity

A compound of formula I ##STR8## wherein A is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkylene or --CH.dbd.CH--, B is a valency bond or --O--,

• m is a whole number from 0 to 5,
• n is 0 or 1,
• X is a valency bond, --O--, or --S--,
• Y is a phenylene radical, which may be unsubsituted or substituted with C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkoxy, halogen, hydroxyl, or aminocarbonyl,
• Z is hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl, or cyano,
• R is --CN, COOH, COO(C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl), CONH-tetrazolyl, CON(OH)(C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl) or 5-(1H)-tetrazolyl, and physiologically acceptable salts thereof.

A pharmaceutical composition comprising at least one compound of the formula I ##STR9## wherein B is a valency bond or --O--, m is a whole number from 0 to 5,

• n is 0 or 1,
• X is a valency bond, --O--, or --S--,
• Y is a valency bond,
• Z is hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl, or cyano,
• R is --CN, COOH, COO(C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl), CONH-tetrazolyl, CON(OH)(C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl) or 5-(1H)-tetrazolyl, and
• A can be --CH.dbd.CH--, or,
• when R is --CN, CONH-tetrazolyl, CON(OH)(C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl) or 5-(1H)-tetrazolyl, A can also be C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkylene, and physiologically acceptable salts thereof, and carrier or adjuvant.

A pharmaceutical composition comprising at least one compound of the formula I ##STR10## wherein A is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkylene or --CH.dbd.CH--, B is a valency bond or --O--,

• m is a whole number from 0 to 5,
• n is 0 or 1,
• X is a valency bond, --O--, or --S--,
• Y is a phenylene radical, which may be unsubstituted or substituted
• with C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkoxy, halogen, hydroxyl, or aminocarbonyl,
• Z is hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl, or cyano,
• R is --CN, COOH, COO(C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl), CONH-tetrazolyl, CON(OH)(C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl) or 5-(1H)-tetrazolyl, and physiologically acceptable salts thereof, and carrier or adjuvant.
