Abstract

There is disclosed a silver halide color photographic material which comprises one yellow coupler represented by the following formula (1) or (2), and a compound represented by the following formula (3) or (4). ##STR1## wherein X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 each represent an alkyl group, an aryl group, or a heterocyclic group, X.sup.3 represents an organic residue required to form a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group together with the >N--, Y represents an aryl group or a heterocyclic group, and Z represents a group capable of being released upon a coupling reaction with the oxidized product of a developing agent, ##STR2## wherein R.sub.a1, R.sub.a2, R.sub.a3, R.sub.a4, and R.sub.a5 each represent a hydrogen atom, or a substituent such as an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group, a cyano group, a halogen atom, or a nitro group, provided that R.sub.al, R.sub.a2, R.sub.a3, R.sub.a4, and R.sub.a5 are not hydrogen atoms at the same time, ##STR3## wherein R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen atom, or a substituent such as --OR.sub.4 in which R.sub.4 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, an oxy radical, R.sub.5 ' and R.sub.5 " each represent an alkyl group, B represents a group of non-metallic atoms required to form together with the nitrogen atom a 5- to 7-membered ring.

A silver halide color photographic material having on a base at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and at least one non-photosensitive hydrophilic colloid layer, which comprises in at least one of said photosensitive layers, at least one yellow coupler represented by the following formula (2) and at least one compound represented by the following formula (3E), (3G) or (4B);

##STR23## wherein X.sup.3 represents an organic residue required to form a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group together with the >N--,
Y represents an aryl group or a heterocyclic group, and
Z represents a non-photographically useful group capable of being released upon a coupling reaction of the coupler represented by formula (2) with the oxidized product of a developing agent;
##STR24## wherein R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 each represent an alkyl group,
R.sup.7 represents an alkyl group, --NHR.sup.8 (wherein R.sup.8 represents a monovalent organic group), or --COOR.sup.9 (wherein R.sup.9 represents a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic group), and
m represents an integer of 0 to 3;
##STR25## wherein R.sub.9, R.sub.10, R.sub.11 and R.sub.12 each represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, wherein the total of the carbon atoms of R.sub.9, R.sub.10, R.sub.11 and R.sub.12 is 32 or less,
Y.sub.3 and Y.sub.4 each represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group, an acyl group, a sulfonyl group, or a silyl group, and
X represents a single bond, an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, a sulfonyl group, or X represents a group of the following formula RA, ##STR26## wherein R.sub.13 and R.sub.14 each represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, p is an integer of 1 to 3, n is 1 or 2, and when p is 2 or 3, the groups R.sub.13 or the groups R.sub.14 may be the same or different;
##STR27## wherein R.sub.5 represents a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, an oxy radical group, --SOR'.sub.5, SO.sub.2 R'.sub.5 (wherein R'.sub.5 represents an alkyl group or an aryl group), an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, or --COR".sub.5 (wherein R".sub.5 represents a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic group),
R.sub.6, R'.sub.6 and R".sub.6 each represent an alkyl group,
R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 each represent a hydrogen atom or --OCOR"' (wherein R"' represents a monovalent organic group), or R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 together may form a heterocyclic ring, and
n is an integer of 0 to 4.
