Abstract
Fiber materials from synthetic polymers, wherein the synthetic polymer is a homogeneous alloy consisting essentially of .alpha.) poly-N-vinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and .beta.) at least one homo- or copolyaramide having at least one recurring structural unit of the formula (I) ##STR1## where E.sup.1 and E.sup.2 are identical or different and each is a divalent aromatic or aliphatic radical.
Claims19
A fiber material formed from a synthetic polymer, wherein the synthetic polymer is a homogeneous blend consisting essentially of
- .alpha.) poly-N-vinylpyrrolidone and
- .beta.) at least one polyaramide having at least one recurring structural unit of the formula (I) ##STR18## where E.sup.1 and E.sup.2 are identical or different and are each selected from the group consisting of ##STR19## --Ar.sup.1 -- and
- --Ar.sup.1 --X--Ar.sup.2 --,
- where Ar.sup.1 and Ar.sup.2 are identical or different 1,2-phenylene, 1,3-phenylene or 1,4-phenylene radicals which are optionally substituted by (C.sub.1 -C.sub.6)-alkyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.6)-alkoxy, --CF.sub.3 or halogen, and Ar.sup.1 is additionally selected from the group consisting of 1,2-, 1,3-, 1,4-, 1,5-, 1,6-, 1,7-, 1,8-, 2,3-, 2,6- and 2,7-naphthylene and X is
- a) a direct bond or one of the following divalent radicals:
- --O--, --SO.sub.2 --, --CO--, --CO--NH--, --C(R.sup.1).sub.2, where R.sup.1 is hydrogen, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.6)-alkyl or fluoroalkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, or
- b) --Z--Ar.sup.1 --Z-- where Z is --O -- or --C(CH.sub.3).sub.2 --, or
- c) --O--Ar.sup.1 --Y--Ar.sup.2 --O--, where Y is a direct bond or one of the following divalent radicals:
- --O--, --SO.sub.2 --, --CO--, --CO--NH--, --C(R.sup.1).sub.2 -- where R.sup.1 is hydrogen, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.6)-alkyl or fluoroalkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, wherein said homogeneous blend fiber material has been obtained by spinning filaments, into a coagulation bath, from a polar aprotic solvent solution containing said synthetic polymer, to form a multifilament bundle, said coagulation bath comprising an aqueous solution containing a polar aprotic solvent.
A fiber material formed from a synthetic polymer, wherein the synthetic polymer is a homogeneous blend consisting essentially of
- .alpha.) poly-N-vinylpyrrolidone and
- .beta.) at least one polyaramide having at least one recurring structural unit of the formula (I) ##STR26## where E.sup.1 and E.sup.2 are identical or different and are each selected from the group consisting of ##STR27## --Ar.sup.1 -- and
