Abstract
The present invention is directed to a new class of cyclic nitrones and their use as spin trapping agents.
Claims28
A method for inhibiting the release of Interleukin-1 comprising administering to a patient in need thereof, a sufficient quantity of a compound of the formula:
- ##STR35## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each independently represented by a C.sub.1-3 alkyl or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 together form a C.sub.2-7 alkylene chain;
- n is represented by an integer from 0-2;
- and R.sub.3 is represented by a substituent selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, --CF.sub.3, --OCF.sub.3 and --OH.
