Abstract
The invention relates to fluoran colour formers having improved fastness to sublimation and migration stability, to their preparation, to pressure-sensitive and heat-sensitive recording materials containing said compounds and to their preparation. The fluorans have the formula (I) as defined in claim 1.
Claims25
A pressure-sensitive or heat-sensitive recording material comprising at least one colour former of formula (I) ##STR46## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each independently of the other hydrogen;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl;
- unsubstituted or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl- halogen-substituted C.sub.4 -C.sub.7 cycloalkyl;
- unsubstituted phenyl or phenyl which is substituted by C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, hydroxy or halogen;
- phenyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkenyl;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- 2-tetrahydrofuranyl, or
- R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 together with the linking nitrogen atom are an unsubstituted or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl-substituted pyrrolidino, piperidino, morpholino, thiomorpholino or piperazino ring;
- R.sub.4 is hydrogen, hydroxy or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- R.sub.5 is COR.sub.11 ;
- CONR.sub.9 R.sub.10 ;
- R.sub.6 is halogen;
- nitro;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkyl;
- amino;
- mono-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylamino;
- di-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylamino;
- or COR.sub.11 ;
- n is 0;
- 1;
- 2;
- 3;
- or 4;
- R.sub.9 and R.sub.10 are each independently of the other hydrogen;
- or C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl;
- or
- R.sub.9 and R.sub.10 together with the linking nitrogen atom are an unsubstituted or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl-substituted pyrrolidino, piperidino, morpholino, thiomorpholino or piperazino ring;
- and
- R.sub.11 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkoxy;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 haloalkyl;
- phenyl which is substituted by halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkyl, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy;
- phenyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or phenyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy;
- with the proviso that 3-diethylaminofluoran-7-carboxy-methylester is not comprised.
