Bisazo, bisazomethine and azo-azomethine compounds derived from 1,4-phenylenediamine sulfonic acid salts

A compound of formula ##STR25## wherein R is hydrogen or a group ##STR26## M.sub.1 and M.sub.2 are each independently of the other an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal or aluminium or a group of formula ##STR27## wherein n is 1, 2 or 3, and R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl,

• X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are each independently of the other --N.dbd. or --CH.dbd.,
• Q.sub.1 and Q.sub.2 are each independently of the other radicals of formula ##STR28## wherein Q.sub.3 is O, S or NH and Q.sub.4 is O or NH, R.sub.5 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl, unsubstituted or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl-substituted phenyl, R.sub.6 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy or ##STR29## wherein M.sub.3 independently of M.sub.1 and M.sub.2 has the same meaning, R.sub.7 is OH, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or COOR.sub.9, wherein R.sub.9 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, and R.sub.8 is phenyl or naphthyl, unsubstituted or substituted by one or two members of the group consisting of halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, NO.sub.2 or ##STR30## or is an unsubstituted or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl-substituted heterocyclic radical selected from pyrrolyl, pyridyl, pyrazinyl, indolyl, quinolyl, benzimidazolyl, benzoxazolyl, phenmorpholyl, quinazolyl or quinoxalyl.
