Abstract
A process for producing an aluminum-based alloy cast product, includes the steps of: preparing a casting material having an aluminum-based hypo-eutectic alloy composition with solid and liquid phases coexisting therein; and subjecting the casting material to a casting under pressure. At this casting step, the casting material is passed through a gate in a casting mold under conditions of a viscosity .mu. in a range of 0.1 Pa.multidot.sec.ltoreq..mu..ltoreq.2,000 Pa.multidot.sec and a Reynolds number in a range of Re.ltoreq.1,500.
Claims27
A process for producing an aluminum-based alloy cast product by casting, comprising the steps of:
- preparing a casting material having an aluminum-based hypo-eutectic alloy composition in which solid and liquid phases coexist;
- and casting said casting material under pressure;
- at the casting step, said casting material being passed through a gate in a casting mold under conditions of a viscosity .mu. of the casting material in a range of 0.1 Pa.multidot.sec.ltoreq..mu..ltoreq.2,000 Pa.multidot.sec and a Reynolds number Re equal to or less than 1,500.
A process for producing an aluminum-based alloy cast product by casting, comprising the steps of:
- heating a solid material of either an aluminum-based eutectic alloy or an aluminum-based hyper-eutectic alloy to prepare a semi-molten material having solid and liquid phases coexisting therein;
- and charging said semi-molten material through a gate of a casting mold into a cavity under pressure, wherein the maximum grain size d2 of initial crystals of said solid material is equal to or less than 100 .mu.m.
