Abstract
Thiazolyl-5-carbonamide derivatives of formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.3 is furanyl or thienyl and R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are as defined herein, have valuable microbicidal activity. They can be used in the form of compositions for controlling or preventing plant diseases.

Thiazolyl-5-carbonamide derivatives of formula I and acid addition salts and metal salt complexes thereof ##STR36## wherein R.sub.3 is 2-furanyl, 2-thienyl, 3-furanyl or 3-thienyl;
- and wherein
- R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each independently of the other have the following meanings:
- a) C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 cycloalkyl that is unsubstituted or substituted by methyl or methylthio,
- b) the group --CH.sub.2 --X--R.sub.4, and
- c) one of the two substituents R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may also be hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, wherein X is oxygen or sulfur, and
- R.sub.4 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl that may be unsubstituted or substituted by halogen or, in the case of C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkyl, also by C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy, or wherein R.sub.4 is C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 alkenyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 alkynyl or a phenyl group or benzyl group of which the aromatic ring is unsubstituted or may be substituted by halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkoxy, CF.sub.3 or by NO.sub.2.
A microbicidal composition for the control of plant diseases containing as active ingredient a compound of formula I together with a suitable carrier therefor.
A method of controlling plant diseases or preventing attack by disease, which comprises the application of a compound of formula I to the plants, to their growing site, to parts of the plants or to plant propagation material.
