Charge-transfer complexes of formula I (A.sup..crclbar.).sub.n B.sup.n.sym. (I) wherein a) n is 1 or 2, b) A is the radical anion of a compound of formula II or of a mixture of compounds of formula II ##STR1## wherein the substituents R are the same and are H or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, or adjacent substituents R together form --(CH.sub.2).sub.3 -- or --(CH.sub.2).sub.4 --; R.sub.1 is H or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl; X.sub.1 is .dbd.N--CN; and X.sub.2, X.sub.3 and X.sub.4 are .dbd.O or .dbd.N--CN, and c) when n=1, B is the monovalent radical cation and when n=2, B is the divalent radical cation of an N-aromatic compound having a total of from 1 to 5 aromatic rings that are unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or by C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, at least one ring containing at least one group --NR.sub.2 -- or [.dbd.N.sup.+ R.sub.2 --] I.sup.- wherein R.sub.2 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or benzyl. The complexes are electrical conductors with which plastics materials may be antistatically treated or converted into electrical conductors.
