Abstract
Carboxylic acid derivatives of the formula: ##STR1## are provided, which are useful for treatment of androgen dependent diseases.

A compound of the following formula ##STR296## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 each independently represent hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.14 alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.14 alkoxy,
- R.sup.5 represents hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl,
- X represents --CONR.sup.13 -- wherein R.sup.13 represents hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl,
- Y represents a single bond,
- A ring represents a cyclohexene ring,
- the dotted line represents a double bond, and
- n represents 1 or 2, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
