Abstract
A direct lubricating system for a machine such as a cycle internal combustion engine wherein the lubricant is delivered directly to the sliding surfaces of the engine to be lubricated. A less viscous fluid such as fuel is mixed with the lubricant so as to ensure good distribution and the desired viscosity.
Claims18
A lubricating system for a ported machine comprised of a pair of relatively movable members defining at least one chamber having a volume which cyclically varies upon the relative movement between said members, at least one port formed in one of said members and opened and closed upon the relative movement of said members, means for introducing lubricant through one of said members for lubricating sliding surfaces of said members, and means for introducing a less viscous fluid through one of said members in proximity to the point where lubricant is introduced for controlling the viscosity of said lubricant.
