Abstract
There are disclosed various compounds of the formula below, ##STR1## where the various parameters R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, X, m and n are as defined in the specification, which show activities as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor demonstrating a utility for the treatment of depression, and activities as a cholinesterase inhibitor demonstrating a utility for the treatment of various memory dysfunctions such as Alzheimer's disease.
Claims24
A compound of the formula ##STR23## where, R.sub.1 is H, loweralkyl, arylloweralkyl or loweralkylcarbonyl;
- R.sub.2 is H, loweralkyl, aryl, arylloweralkyl or loweralkylcarbonyl;
- R.sub.3 is H or loweralkyl;
- R.sub.4 is H;
- m is an integer of 1 or 2;
- n is an integer of 1 or 2;
- and
- X is loweralkoxy, arylloweralkoxy, hydroxy, ##STR24## amino loweralkyamine, diloweralkylamino, loweralkylcarbonylamino or loweralkoxycarbonylamino, wherein R.sub.5 is H or loweralkyl;
- and R.sub.6 is H loweralkyl, arylloweralkyl or aryl;
- or alternatively the group --NR.sub.5 R.sub.6 as a whole is ##STR25## R.sub.7 being hydrogen or loweralkyl;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
