## Abstract

A compound of the formula 1: ##STR1## is produced via fermentation of a fungal isolate ATCC no. 74235. The organism is included herein, as well as a process for production of the compound, a pharmaceutical composition and a method of treatment.

### Claim 1

A compound represented by formula I: ##STR5## or a pharmaceutically acceptable ester or hydrate thereof.

A compound in accordance with claim 1, having the structure: ##STR6##

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

A pharmaceutical composition comprised of a compound in accordance with claim 1 in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

A method of treating a fungal infection in a mammal in need of such treatment comprising administering to said mammal a compound in accordance with claim 1 in an amount effective to treat said fungal infection.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

A method of treating a bacterial infection in a mammal in need of such treatment comprising administering to said mammal a compound in accordance with claim 1 in an amount effective to treat said bacterial infection.
