Abstract
There are provided fungicidal 2,2-diaryl-1-(oxa and thia)-2a-azonia-2-borataacenaphthene compounds having the structural formula ##STR1## Further provided are compositions and methods comprising those compounds for the protection of plants from fungal infestation and disease.
Claims10
A method for the prevention, control or amelioration of a disease caused by a phytopathogenic fungus which comprises contacting said fungus with a fungicidally effective amount of a compound having the structural formula ##STR7## wherein X and Y are each independently hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 haloalkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 haloalkyl;
- m and n are each independently an integer of 0, 1, 2 or 3;
- A is O or S;
- R, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are each independently hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 hydroxyalkyl, cyano, nitro, CH.sub.2 CN, hydroxy, NR.sub.6 R.sub.7, SO.sub.3 R.sub.8 or COR.sub.9 ;
- R.sub.6, R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 are each independently hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub. 4alkyl;
- and
- R.sub.9 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl.
A method for the protection of a plant, plant seed or tuber from fungal infestation and disease which comprises applying to the plant, plant seed or tuber, or to the medium or water in which it is growing, a fungicidally effective amount of a compound having the structural formula ##STR8## wherein X and Y are each independently hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 haloalkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 haloalkyl;
- m and n are each independently an integer of 0, 1, 2 or 3;
- A is O or S;
- R, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are each independently hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 hydroxyalkyl, cyano, nitro, CH.sub.2 CN, hydroxy, N.sub.6 R.sub.7, SO.sub.3 R.sub.8 or COR.sub.9 ;
- R.sub.6, R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 are each independently hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- and
- R.sub.9 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl.
