## Abstract

Carbamates having a long-chain N-alkyl radical, a process for the preparation of the carbamates in a conventional manner and fuels and lubricants which contain these carbamates as additives.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A carbamate of the following formula I ##STR7## where R.sup.1 is a polybutyl or polyisobutyl radical derived from isobutene and from 0 to 30% by weight of n-butene and having a molecular weight of from 250 to 5,000 R.sup.2 is of the following formula II ##STR8## where R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are independently hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, R.sup.3 is hydrogen and n is 1.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A carbamate as claimed in claim 1, wherein R.sup.1 is a polyisobutyl radical having a molecular weight of from 500 to 2,000.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

A liquid fuel mixture, which contains a carbamate of the formula I as claimed in claim 1.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

A liquid fuel mixture as claimed in claim 3, which contains from 10 to 5,000 ppm of a carbamate of the formula I.

### Claim 5 (depends on 3)

A liquid fuel mixture as claimed in claim 3, which, in addition to a carbamate of the formula I, contains a fuel detergent as an additional additive.
