Abstract
A hydrophobic porous inorganic carrier particle having at least a pore volume of 0.1 ml/g consisting of pores with a diameter of 7 to 50 .ANG. and having a perfume absorbed into said particle. The invention also comprises a detergent composition containing the carrier particle and a method of manufacturing the carrier particle.
Claims7
A hydrophobic porous inorganic carrier particle having at least a pore volume of 0.1 ml/g consisting of pores with a diameter of 7 to 50 .ANG. and having a perfume absorbed into said particle.
A detergent composition comprising at least one surfactant and from 0.1 to 60% by weight of hydrophobic porous inorganic carrier particles having a pore volume of at least 0.1 ml/g consisting of pores with a diameter of 7 to 50 .ANG. and having a perfume absorbed into said particle.
A method of making a hydrophobic, porous inorganic carrier particle having at least a pore volume of 0.1 ml/g consisting of pores with a diameter of 7 to 50 .ANG. and having a perfume absorbed into said particle comprising the steps of:
- (i) heating a suitable inorganic carrier at a temperature of from 500.degree. C. to 1000.degree. C. for up to 3 hours;
- and
- (ii) treating the carrier with perfume.
