Abstract
This invention relates to the polyalk-1-enyl ethers having the formula ##STR1## which is the reaction product of a hydroxylated compound and an alk-1-enyloxy oxirane and to the process for preparing the polyalk-1-enyl ether product.
Claims10
The polyalk-1-enyl ether having the formula ##STR26## wherein p has a value of from 0 to 8;
- when p has a positive value, R is the radical:
- ##STR27## where W is C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl, sulfur, sulfonyl or oxygen, f has a value of from 1 to 50, Q is halo or C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl and v has a value of 0-4;
- when p is zero, R is a monovalent C.sub.2 to C.sub.20 optionally alkoxylated radical of alkyl, phenyl, benzyl, or the radical:
- ##STR28## where W is C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl, sulfur, sulfonyl or oxygen, f has a value of from 1 to 50, Q is halo or C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl and v has a value of 0-4;
- R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each independently hydrogen or C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl;
- R.sub.4 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl;
- Z is an optionally alkoxylated C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 aliphatic hydrocarbon;
- Y is ##STR29## r has a value from 1 to 100, and R.sub.1 is hydrogen when r is 1 and, when r is greater than 1, R.sub.1 is ##STR30##
