Abstract
Pyrazole derivatives of a variety of polycyclic pigments, particularly quinacridone pigments, corresponding to the general formula ##STR1## wherein Q is the primary pigment structure; and the use of such derivatives as additives to pigment systems to provide a broad range of performance benefits to the resulting pigment compositions.
Claims26
A pyrazole derivative corresponding to the formula ##STR3## wherein Q is a pigment moiety;
- R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are independently hydrogen;
- halogen;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl, optionally substituted with one or more halogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkoxy groups, C.sub.6 -C.sub.12 aryl, optionally substituted with C.sub.-C.sub.18 alkyl, halogen, nitro, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkoxy groups, or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 together with the carbons of the pyrazole ring form a benzene ring;
- M is hydrogen, a quaternary nitrogen cation or a metal cation;
- x is 0 to 2;
- and
- y is 0.05 to 4.
