Abstract
Compounds having the formula I: ##STR1## are antagonists of the actions of leukotrienes. These compounds are useful as anti-asthmatic, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, and cytoprotective agents. They are also useful in treating angina, cerebral spasm, glomerular nephritis, hepatitis, endotoxemia, uveitis, and allograft rejection.
Claims8
A compound of the formula:
- ##STR9## wherein:
- R.sup.1 is H, lower alkyl, halogen, CF.sub.3, CN, NO.sub.2, or N.sub.3 ;
- R.sup.2 is each independently H or lower alkyl;
- R.sup.3 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, or halogen;
- R.sup.4 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, or halogen;
- R.sup.5 is H or lower alkyl;
- R.sup.6 is alkyl, cycloalkyl, or alkyl substituted with R.sup.7 -phenyl;
- R.sup.7 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, or halogen;
- R.sup.8 is lower alkyl, R.sup.9 -phenyl, or CF.sub.3 ;
- R.sup.9 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkylthio, or halogen;
- R.sup.11 is H, lower alkyl, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkyl substituted with R.sup.7 -phenyl, halogen, CF.sub.3, CN, NO.sub.2, or N.sub.3 ;
- A is C.dbd.O or CH.sub.2 ;
- Q is CONHS(O).sub.2 R.sup.8
- X is CH.sub.2, NR.sub.2, O, or a bond;
- Y is O, NH, or S;
- Z.sup.1 is CH or N;
- Z.sup.2 is --CH.dbd.CR.sup.11 --;
- Z.sup.3 is CH or N;
- Z.sup.4 is CR.sup.5 or N;
- m is 0 to 4;
- n is 0 to 2;
- p is 0 or 1;
- with the proviso that when p=0, Z.sup.1 is N;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
