Abstract
A cyanoacrylate monomer adhesive formulation which has improved thermal properties resulting from the inclusion in the formulation of an effective amount for enhancing the thermal resistance of the cured polymer of a sulfur containing compound of the formula: ##STR1## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are, respectively, monovalent and divalent hydrocarbon groups which may be optionally substituted with halogen, NO.sub.2, oxo, CN, alkoxy, hydroxy, acyloxy or SO.sub.2 or interrupted by one or more ether oxygen atoms.
Claims21
In a cyanoacrylate monomer adhesive formulation the improvement wherein the formulation includes an effective amount for enhancing the thermal resistance of the cured polymer of a sulfur containing compound of the formula:
- ##STR8## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are, respectively, monovalent and divalent hydrocarbon groups which may be optionally substituted with halogen, NO.sub.2, oxo (.dbd.O), CN, alkoxy, hydroxy, acyloxy or SO.sub.2 or interrupted by one or more ether oxygen atoms.
In a cyanoacrylate monomer adhesive formulation the improvement wherein the formulation includes an effective amount for enhancing the thermal resistance of the cured polymer of a sulfur containing compound of the formula:
- ##STR9## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are, respectively, monovalent and divalent hydrocarbon groups which may be optionally substituted with halogen, NO.sub.2, oxo (.dbd.O), CN, alkoxy, hydroxy, acyloxy or SO.sub.2.
A cyanoacrylate polymer, prepared from cyanoacrylate monomer, the polymer comprising between 0.1 and 10% by weight of a sulfur-containing compound of the formula:
- ##STR10## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are, respectively, monovalent and divalent hydrocarbon groups which may be optionally substituted with halogen, NO.sub.2, oxo (.dbd.O), CN, alkoxy, hydroxy, acyloxy or SO.sub.2.
In a cyanoacrylate monomer adhesive formulation the improvement wherein the formulation includes an effective amount for enhancing the thermal resistance of the cured polymer of a sulfate compound having at least one group of the formula:
- ##STR11## where the R.sup.3 groups are independently H, alkyl or aryl.
A cyanoacrylate polymer, prepared from cyanoacrylate monomer, the polymer comprising between 0.1 and 10% by weight of a sulfur-containing compound of the formula:
- ##STR12## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are, respectively, monovalent and divalent hydrocarbon groups which may be optionally substituted with halogen, NO.sub.2, oxo (.dbd.O), CN, alkoxy, hydroxy, acyloxy or SO.sub.2 or interrupted by one or more ether oxygen atoms.
