Beverage container holding apparatus with promotional display

A retractable apparatus for holding beverage cups of various sizes, said cups generally circular in cross section and having a side wall tapered outwardly from bottom to top, said apparatus adapted for attachment to a supporting surface, said supporting surface extending in a generally vertical direction, said apparatus comprising:

• a body;
• a first movable member including a generally circular first opening bounded by a first edge extending about said first opening on said first member, said first opening having a first diameter, said first diameter smaller than an outer diameter of a first cup in a first location adjacent the top thereof;
• first pivot means for connecting said body and said first movable member and for enabling movement of said first movable member between a first position wherein said movable member extends outward from said supporting surface wherein said first edge extends generally horizontal, and a second position wherein said first movable member is adjacent said supporting surface, wherein when said first movable member is in the first position said first cup is enabled to be held in said first opening and supported generally upright therein about said first location by said edge of said first opening.

A retractable apparatus for holding beverage cups and cans, said apparatus adapted for attachment to a generally vertically extending supporting surface, said apparatus comprising:

• a body, said body including a first display means thereon for displaying visible promotional material;
• a movable shelf member mounted on said body by pivot means, said shelf member movable between an extended position wherein said shelf member extends generally horizontally, and wherein in the extended position said shelf member is adapted for supporting bottom surfaces of cups and cans, and a retracted position wherein said shelf member is adjacent said body and in visually blocking relation of said first display means, said shelf member further comprising further display means for displaying promotional material, said further display means readily visible when said shelf member is in the retracted position.
