Benzylimidazole derivatives are described as anxiolytic agents.
Claims3
A method of treating anxiety and/or cognitive disorders in a host in need thereof which comprises administering an effective amount of a compound of the formula (1):
- ##STR2## wherein Ar is 3,5-difluorophenyl, 2,6-dichlorophenyl, 3,4-dihydroxyphenyl, or 3-fluoro-4-methoxyphenyl and
- R is SH, or
- Ar is phenyl and R is CH.sub.2 NH.sub.2 or CH.sub.2 OH,
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
