Abstract
.alpha.-Arylacrylates substituted by a heterocyclic radical and of the general formula I ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is alkoxy or alkylthio, R.sup.2 is alkyl, Het is pyridyl, pyridone, quinolyl, pyrimidinyl, pyrimidinone, the heterocyclic ring system being unsubstituted or substituted, A is carbonyloxy, oxygen or sulfur, and n is 0 or 1, and their plant-tolerated acid addition salts and metal complexes, and the N-oxides of the heterocyclic compounds, and fungicides containing these compounds.

A compound selected from the group consisting of a compound of formula I ##STR15## wherein Het is a member selected from the group consisting of 2-quinolyl;
- 4-methyl-2-quinolyl;
- 3-chloro-5-trifluoromethyl-2-pyridyl;
- 2-methyl-6-trifluoromethyl-4-pyrimidinyl;
- 4-trifluoromethyl-2-pyrimidinyl;
- 6-methyl-2-pyridyl;
- and 6-isopropyl-2-pyridyl;
- A is sulfur;
- R.sup.1 is methoxy;
- R.sup.2 is methyl;
- and n is 1;
- and its plant-tolerated acid addition salts, metal complexes, and N-oxides.
