Abstract
A magnetic recording medium is disclosed, comprising a non-magnetic support having provided thereon a magnetic layer comprising a ferromagnetic metal thin film, wherein a protective layer made mainly of a fluorine-based resin represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein m is an integer of 1 or more, and n is an integer of 10 or more, is provided on the ferromagnetic metal thin film.

A magnetic recording medium comprising a non-magnetic support having provided thereon a magnetic layer comprising a ferromagnetic metal thin film, wherein a protective layer mainly comprising a fluorine-based resin represented by formula (I):
- ##STR8## wherein m is an integer of 1 or more, and n is an integer of 10 or more, is provided on the ferromagnetic metal thin film, wherein said fluorine-based resin has a weight average molecular weight of 1,500 to 15,000.
