Oral compositions for treating plaque and gingivitis

Aqueous dentifrice toothpaste gel or cream consisting essentially of about 5% to about 70% of bicarbonate salt, from about 0.25% to about 2% of sodium carbonate, from about 10% to about 50% water, and from about 6% to about 70% of a silica dental abrasive which does not excessively or unduly abrade tooth enamel or dentin.
