Abstract
Mixtures of iron complexes of metallizable disazo compounds, at least one compound being of the formula ##STR1## and at least one compound being of the formula ##STR2## wherein the substituents have the meaning given in the specification, are useful for dyeing substrates dyeable with anionic dyes, e.g., leather.

A mixture of iron complexes of
- (i) at least one metallizable disazo compound of the formula ##STR18## (ii) at least one metallizable disazo compound of the formula ##STR19## wherein D' is a monocyclic or bicyclic aromatic diazo component radical of the benzene series containing one --SO.sub.3 M group,
- R' is hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.2-4 hydroxyalkyl, methoxy ##STR20## wherein R"' is hydrogen, hydroxy, chloro, C.sub.1-2 alkyl, C.sub.1-2 alkoxy or --SO.sub.2 NR.sub.1 R.sub.2, and
- R"" is hydrogen, C.sub.1-2 alkyl, C.sub.1-2 alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, --COOM or --NR.sub.o 'R.sub.o ",
- wherein
- R.sub.o ' is hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.2-4 hydroxyalkyl, methoxy(C.sub.2-4 alkyl) or carbamoyl(C.sub.1-4 alkyl), and
- R.sub.o " is hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.2-4 hydroxyalkyl, methoxy(C.sub.2-4 alkyl) or carbamoyl(C.sub.1-2 alkyl), or
- --NR.sub.o 'R.sub.o " is a saturated nitrogen-containing 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring, and
- R" is hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.2-4 hydroxyalkyl or methoxy(C.sub.2-4 alkyl), or
- --NR'R" is saturated nitrogen-containing 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring,
- R.sub.3 is hydrogen, chloro or C.sub.1-2 alkyl,
- R.sub.3 ' is hydrogen, chloro or C.sub.1-2 alkyl, and
- X is hydrogen or hydroxy,
- wherein
- each R.sub.1 is independently hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.2-4 hydroxyalkyl or methoxy(C.sub.2-4 alkyl), and
- each R.sub.2 is independently hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.2-4 hydroxyalkyl or methoxy(C.sub.2-4 alkyl), or
- --NR.sub.1 R.sub.2 is a saturated nitrogen-containing 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring, and
- each M is independently hydrogen or a cation.
