Abstract
Compounds of the general formula I: ##STR1## are disclosed as useful in the treatment or prevention of hypercholesterolemia, hyperlipoproteinemia and atherosclerosis. Novel intermediate compounds used to make the compound of formula I are also disclosed.
Claims1
A compound of the formula X:
- ##STR35## wherein R.sub.1 is selected from any one of H, alkyl, aryl, or substituted aryl;
- wherein R.sub.2 is selected from any one of alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, aralkyl, substituted aralkyl, aralkenyl, or cycloalkyl;
- wherein R.sub.3 is H;
- or
- wherein R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 may be taken together to form a benzo or naphtho ring system;
- wherein n=0 to 3 and p=0 to 3 and pharmaceutically acceptable acid salts thereof.
