Abstract
A cellulosic fiber of improved wettability comprising cellulosic fibers with small discrete crystal domain of ionic salt attached to the surface of the fiber. The method of making the cellulosic fiber of improved wettability is also claimed.
Claims6
A method of improving the wettability of cellulosic fibers comprising:
- a) collecting individualized dry cellulosic fibers on a collection means,
- b) applying a solution of ionic salt to said collection of individualized dry cellulosic fibers, and
- c) drying the wetted fibers so as to form discrete crystal domains of said ionic salt on the surface of said cellulosic fibers.
