Abstract
Indonaphthol thermal transfer dyes have the formula ##STR1## where X is nitrogen or the radical CH, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each independently of the other C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl, which may be substituted, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -monooxaalkyl or -dioxaalkyl or allyl, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are each independently of the other hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkanoylamino, and R.sup.5 is five-membered hetaryl which is not benzofused and has two or more hetero atoms, with the proviso that R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are not both unsubstituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl at one and the same time.
Claims7
An indonaphthol dye of the formula I ##STR64## where X is nitrogen or the radical CH,
- R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each independently of the other C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl which may be substituted with phenyl, cyano, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkanoyloxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxycarbonyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxycarbonyloxy wherein said C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxycarbonyloxy may itself be substituted in the alkoxy group by phenyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -monooxaalkyl or -dioxaalkyl or allyl,
- R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are each hydrogen, and
- R.sup.5 is five-membered hetaryl which is not benzofused and has two or more hetero atoms selected from the group consisting of nitrogen, oxygen and sulfur, with the proviso that R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are not both unsubstituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl at one and the same time.
