Abstract
Water-soluble triazine derivatives of formula (1) are disclosed. The novel compounds are representatives of sterically hindered amines (HALS stabilisers) and are suitable for enhancing the thermal and photochemical stability of undyed and dyed polyamide fibre materials.

A water-soluble compound of formula ##STR32## wherein R is hydrogen, oxyl;
- hydroxy;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl;
- C.sub.3 -C.sub.5 alkenyl;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkoxy;
- acyl;
- or benzyl,
- R.sub.1 is halogen;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl;
- amino;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkoxy;
- C.sub.3 -C.sub.5 alkenyloxy;
- cycloalkoxy;
- unsubstituted phenoxy or phenoxy which is substituted in the phenyl moiety by halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkoxy, carboxy, carboxy-C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl, carbamoyl, mono- or di-C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -acylamino or acyl;
- phenyl;
- phenyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl;
- phenylthio;
- phenyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkylthio;
- mono- or diphenyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkylamino;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkylthio;
- cycloalkylthio;
- unsubstituted or hydroxy- or carboxy-substituted mono- or di-C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkylamino, wherein the alkyl groups may be interrupted by an oxygen atom;
- mono- or di-C.sub.3 -C.sub.5 alkenylamino;
- unsubstituted or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl-substituted mono- or dicycloalkylamino;
- unsubstituted or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl-, hydroxy- or carboxy-substituted 1-azacyclohexyl;
- unsubstituted or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl-substituted morpholino;
- a radical of formula ##STR33## a radical of formula ##STR34## or a radical of formula ##STR35## R.sub.2 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl, R.sub.3 is hydrogen or hydroxy,
- R.sub.4 is hydrogen;
- halogen;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkoxy;
- carboxy;
- carboxy-C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl;
- acyl;
- carbamoyl;
- or mono- or di-C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -acylamino,
- M may be the same or different and is hydrogen;
- alkali metal;
- alkaline earth metal;
- ammonia;
- or an organic ammonio radical of formula (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl).sub.n (H).sub.m N.sup.+,
- Z --O--;
- or --(NR.sub.5)--,
- R.sub.5 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl,
- m is 0 to 3;
- n is 1 to 4;
- and the sum of m+n=4,
- x is 1 or 2 and
- y is 0 or 1;
- and, if R.sub.1 is a radical of formula (2) or (3) and
- y is 1, x in formula (1) is 1.
