A method of inhibiting the formation of granulocytopenia and agranulocytosis upon enteral administration of clozapine-containing compositions to schizophrenic patients comprising concomitantly administering to said patients a granulocytopenia- and agranulocytosis-inhibiting amount of a radical scavenger.
