Abstract
A photoconductor contains octa-substituted phthalocyanines in a charge generation layer. The photoconductor shows good sensitivity in the infra-red region of the electromagnetic spectrum from about 600 nm to about 900 nm.
Claims33
A photoconductor comprising a charge generation layer, wherein the charge generation layer comprises a metal centered octa-substituted phthalocyanine, wherein substituents on exterior rings of the phthalocyanine comprise alkoxy groups and where said alkoxy groups are para to each other.
A photoconductor comprising a substrate, a charge blocking layer, a charge generation layer and a charge transport layer, wherein the charge generation layer comprises a metal center octa-substituted phthalocyanine wherein substituents on exterior rings of the phthalocyanine comprise alkoxy groups and wherein said alkoxy groups are para to each other
A method for preparing a photoconductor comprising:
- (a) applying a charge generation layer to a substrate;
- and
- (b) applying a charge transport layer to the charge generation layer;
- wherein the charge generation layer comprises a metal centered octa-substituted phthalocyanine, wherein substituents on exterior rings of the phthalocyanine comprise alkoxy groups and wherein said alkoxy groups are para to each other.
