Abstract
A polycarbonate blend of good impact and flexural strength, good weldline properties, and good solvent resistance prepared by admixing with polycarbonate an aromatic polyester, an olefinic epoxide-containing modifier, and a thermoplastic elastomer. Optionally, a graft copolymer of the core-shell type and a rubber-modified styrene/acrylonitrile copolymer may be used as an additional impact modifiers.
Claims45
A composition of matter comprising, in admixture,
- (a) an aromatic polycarbonate,
- (b) an aromatic polyester,
- (c) an epoxide-containing copolymer, having a glass transition temperature of less than 0.degree. C., prepared from (i) one or more olefin monomers, a conjugated diene, or a mixture thereof;
- and (ii) at least one vinyl monomer carrying at least one epoxide group;
- and
- (d) a block copolymer having a rigid "A" block of polyurethane and a rubbery "B" block of polyester, polyether or a mixture thereof.

A composition of matter comprising, in admixture,
- (a) an aromatic polycarbonate
- (b) an aromatic polyester,
- (c) epoxide-containing copolymer, having a glass transition temperature of less than 0.degree. C., prepared from (i) one or more olefin monomers, a conjugated diene, or a mixture thereof;
- and (ii) at least one vinyl monomer carrying at least one epoxide group;
- and
- (d) a linear or radial block copolymer having a rigid block of polyester which has a glass transition temperature above 23.degree. C., and a rubbery block of polyether which has a glass transition temperature below 25.degree. C.

A composition of matter comprising, in admixture,
- (a) an aromatic polycarbonate,
- (b) an aromatic polyester,
- (c) an epoxide-containing copolymer, having a glass transition temperature of less than 0.degree. C., prepared from (i) one or more olefin monomers, a conjugated diene, or a mixture thereof;
- and (ii) at least one vinyl monomer carrying at least one epoxide group;
- and
- (d) a polyether rubber.
