Abstract
Methods for treating minimal disease hepatitis B infection are disclosed. Minimal disease carriers are given thymosin .alpha.-1, or biologically active fragments or analogs thereof In this way, the indications of hepatitis B can be reduced or eliminated.

A method for treating minimal disease hepatitis B infection comprising administering to a minimal disease hepatitis B carrier a therapeutically effective amount of at least one peptide selected from the group consisting of thymosin .alpha.-1, a biologically active fragment of thymosin .alpha.-1 and a biologically active analog of thymosin .alpha.-1, in a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle.
