Abstract
Provided is an acceptor sheet useful for receiving marking material in imagewise fashion by means of mass transfer printing. The acceptor sheet comprises a substrate which has a microrough surface, wherein the coating is comprised of polymer particles which have not coalesced to form a uniform, continuous film. Such acceptor sheets exhibit superior mass transfer printing properties, and in particular superior wax thermal transfer printing properties, as compared to acceptor sheets having smooth coatings comprised of film-forming polymers.
Claims19
An acceptor sheet for receiving marking material in imagewise fashion by means of mass transfer printing, comprising a substrate having a coating with a microrough surface, wherein the coating comprises polymer particles which have not coalesced to form a uniform, continuous film.
An acceptor sheet for receiving marking material in imagewise fashion by means of thermal mass transfer printing, comprising a substrate having a coating with a microrough surface, the coating comprising polymer particles which have not coalesced to form a uniform continuous film, and colloidal silica.
